1st Asian Martial Arts Games

The 1st Asian Martial Arts Games was organized by Grandmaster Prof. Jonathan Makiling Abaya headed by his two organization the Philippine Full Contact Self-Defense Federation (PFCSDF) and the Philippine Jendo Association (PJA) with special assistance from the Philippine Department of Tourism (DOT) and the Philippine Tourism Authority (PTA).

The games was held from November 29th to December 4 of 2007 at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium courtesy of the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC).

The opening ceremony which was held at the Rizal Football Field was formally opened with the Parade of participants and the "Lighting of Torch" by Grandmaster Abaya then passing it to Daniel Razon to light the Ceremonial Basin. The lighting of Torch was personally graced and escorted Grandmaster Leong Wai Meng, the Secretary General of the International Martial Arts Games Committee (IMGC).

The event was the first Asian Martial Arts Games ever held in the history of Asian Continent and although was not able to gather the estimated number of competitors was very successful. It was attended and graced by competitors, guest, IMGC high officials and observers coming from, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Dubai, Greenland, Hong Kong, India, Iran, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Nepal, Philippines, Russia, Taiwan and Ukraine.
